For Michael Sudheer, looking through a camera lens is an act of meditation. When he lifts the camera to his eye, everything becomes still and he goes to a quiet space within. There, in a place of deep calm, without actively thinking or judging, he frames the dazzling light unfolding before him. The results are photographs soaked with color, rippling with texture and lit with inspiration.
After 15 years of working on Madison Avenue in the high-powered world of advertising, Michael traded in his television commercial producer and director’s hat to focus on his photography. A man of many talents, he has also entertained thousands as a cabaret singer, stage actor, film director and an international tour guide. Michael’s passion for color has been expressed through color consulting and interior design work in the United States and Mexico.
Michael honed his photography skills under the tutelage of internationally famous photographer Harold Feinstein who taught him an invaluable lesson. “Good photography is all about seeing, not about the equipment.”
Sudheer uses the camera as his paint brush. He literally paints with light. This unique approach landed him a one-man exhibition at New York’s prestigious “The Light Gallery.” He was also the first photographer to display his work in Tiffany’s New York windows just blocks from his old advertising office.
Over the past 40 years, Michael has had several one-man shows. His photography appears around the world in many private and corporate collections.
Michael is presently living and working in Atlanta, Georgia.
